We booked our stay at Springfield several months in advance and the water sites were all booked for the day we were to arrive.  There was only one site available for the first night and that site was on the inner loop. We decided we could do that for one night so we booked it. All the other sites were booked on that first day and a few were going to open up the next day.  We were lucky to get a water site that was available.  So, the next day we had to unhook and move to our water site for the rest of our stay.  It was so worth it!

That site was accessible to the water, and we were able to fish from our campsite.  Beautiful place!  We love COE campgrounds!

Here is a map of the campground so you can get an idea of where the sites are and how they are arranged.

The park is well maintained.  We got afternoon sun at our site, so it was warm most of the day.  There is a beach area and a boat ramp where you can launch your boat or kayak.

We explored the area while we were there.  The campground is close to Anderson, South Carolina which is considered the “Upcountry” of South Carolina.  Anderson has museums and activities during the year. It is a nice town to explore!

This campground is open from April 1 through October 31.   This is one of the few campgrounds we have been to that most all the sites are on the water and have electric and water hookups!  Can’t beat that!!!
